Most recently I have been involved in developing a Territory Planning application at AscentCloud.Previously, I led the ProAuth provider portal team at Casenet. ProAuth is a high performance provider portal enabling health care providers to create and manage authorizations for procedures efficiently. The application is written in Angular 5 with the typical Angular ecosystem of related libraries and tools, with a Java backend for its web services. Before that, I helped design and implement various complex, modern web applications (primarily JavaScript-based SPAs) for Cielo Concepts at high profile companies like Humedica (part of UnitedHealth Group). I've focused on React / Redux development and its related, expanding ecosystem of component libraries. I also have recent expertise with other popular libraries and frameworks (e.g. Angular, ExtJS) but have decided React is the best path forward at the moment for this kind of development.Career overview: I started my software development career at Parametric Technology Corp. Primarily I helped develop various toolkits and connective technologies in C++ and Java. I then started consulting on my own in '99, focusing on J2EE-related projects in the Boston area. After the dot com bubble burst, I moved to a permanent position at a GIS/logistics startup called Transdecisions. I helped build its initial geocoding engine, and have since built the front end (a Swing application) for several different versions of a complex scheduling + dispatching application incorporating routing, mapping, geocoding, and fleet management capabilities. Transdecisions has since been acquired by Servigistics (mid '06), where I worked on its Scheduler & Dispatcher application in the Workforce Management group. Later, I did extensive consulting work helping integrate the newer version of this application with complex legacy systems of very large customers.

Additional technologies included D3.js, Immutable.js, Reactabular, and other React-related component libraries. Used ES6 style JavaScript throughout, and UIKit for our CSS library. Implemented RESTful services using Java 8 to support new functionality in the Metric Analytics UI tool.Advised team on experiences / best practices with Immutable.js usage, based on experience from a previous React / Redux project at Humedica (the Patient Registries port described below).Previous Project: HumedicaHelped port complex Flex application to React / Redux. Used ES6 JavaScript, Node.js, Webpack + Babel, Immutable.js, react-datagrid + some smaller React/Redux related node modules, with an OOCSS styling approach for the new application. Helped the team design Redux-style solutions for various application components.Implemented complex React tree components that are both editable and drag + droppable, for composing formulae in our port of the legacy application.Implemented a Redux connected version of the react-datagrid for use in the ported application. My Slideshare notes from this React / Redux project are here: http://www.slideshare.net/WebPredict/the-road-to-reduxPrevious Project (Harvard Business Publishing):Implemented new features for a high profile site using various Java-related technologies including Spring and JPA. Working with MongoDB on the back end.Made enhancements to customer service application using AngularJS and Bootstrap.Implemented changes for integration with new gateway provider (working with RESTful services).Re-architecting and improving order processing workflow for HBR.org with ActiveMQ messaging and Silverpop Transact email management.Improved purchase history performance on HBR.org via significant Java backend changes (converting a collection of remote calls into one bulk call, among other things).

Co Founder, AgainWebpredict, Inc. Feb 2015 - May 2015UsaCreated a technical screening web app, a service aimed at helping recruiters + employers screen interview candidates. This included exploration of Rails, Heroku, AWS, Bootstrap, PostgreSQL, Cloud9 and a few other technologies. Also contributing to Algorithmia.com under the user name WebPredict, building up a library of algorithms in a variety of areas (which are then automagically exposed as web services on Algorithmia.com).Researched a wide variety of recent technical topics for the technical screening site, with a significant emphasis on NoSQL databases. -
