Leading the ProAuth team. ProAuth is a high performance provider portal for large health care companies, allowing providers to create and manage authorizations more efficiently. We're currently using Angular 8 and related Angular libraries / tools, with a Java backend for the RESTful web services.Responsibilities include: mentoring and advising on best practices, code reviews, scrum mastering, helping with general project management, deciding on new technologies to adopt, interviewing candidates, coordinating contributions from other teams to the ProAuth product, improving code quality and maintainability, solving performance problems, bug fixing, coding new features, all the while sticking to our very fast paced agile / scrum environment and aggressive schedule / deadlines.Other technologies involved in this project include: the PrimeNG component library, ngrx/store (a Redux-like app state management library), RxJS, NGINX, and Java-based web services on the backend (using Spring libraries and Hibernate for O/R mapping).Other activities include: implementing new screens and enhancing existing forms in the ProAuth application, improving cosmetics / usability, bug fixing, performance improvements, unit + e2e test writing, and some cross browser testing in a fast-paced Agile / Scrum environment.Drove various upgrades of Angular / TypeScript / PrimeNG for ProAuth releases, as well as the effort to clean up tech debt + use linting, strict null checking, etc. and increase code coverage. Latest Client Project: HumedicaImplemented various improvements to the Metric Analytics internal tools UI using React and Redux. Additional technologies included D3.js, Immutable.js, Reactabular, and other React-related component libraries. Used ES6 style JavaScript throughout, and UIKit for our CSS library. Implemented RESTful services using Java 8 to support new functionality in the Metric Analytics UI tool.Advised team on experiences / best practices with Immutable.js usage, based on experience from a previous React / Redux project at Humedica (the Patient Registries port described below).Previous Project: HumedicaHelped port complex Flex application to React / Redux. Used ES6 JavaScript, Node.js, Webpack + Babel, Immutable.js, react-datagrid + some smaller React/Redux related node modules, with an OOCSS styling approach for the new application. Created a technical screening web app, a service aimed at helping recruiters + employers screen interview candidates. This included exploration of Rails, Heroku, AWS, Bootstrap, PostgreSQL, Cloud9 and a few other technologies. Also contributing to Algorithmia.com under the user name WebPredict, building up a library of algorithms in a variety of areas (which are then automagically exposed as web services on Algorithmia.com).Researched a wide variety of recent technical topics for the technical screening site, with a significant emphasis on NoSQL databases.

Helping develop features for the next release of Casenet's flagship product, TruCare. Development technologies include Java, Flex / ActionScript, SQL Server, Spring, Hibernate. Working in a fast-paced agile (Scrum) environment.

Aiding in the development of the core predictive analytics LCM web application. Working in a fast-paced Agile environment, with cutting-edge technologies including Ext-JS/Sencha Architect, RESTful web services in Java and Groovy, Python scripts and JasperSoft Studio reporting. Using git, maven, JIRA, Bitbucket, Bamboo for the development process tools.When implementing sections of the LCM application, worked on all tiers of the application (wrote the backend RESTful services, made the relevant MySQL DB changes).Wrote complex metrics in Groovy for the LCM simulation engine and implemented the associated reports, which helped predict future revenue for customers.

Played a key role in the implementation of the Servigistics Field Service Management product with very large customers including TKE, CCE (Coke Vending). Wrote extensive import/export + connectivity code in Java, primarily for the XML gateway of the FSM product. Found + diagnosed bugs in the core product.Wrote integrating and transformational code connecting the core Servigistics Workforce application to client ThyssenKrupp’s external systems.Aided in performance analysis for minimization of data sent to mobile solution from the Servigistics application. This involved analysis of database queries and usage patterns of the web application, and resulted in significant reduction in frequency + amount of data sent to mobile devices.Implemented a custom solution to keep track of data sent to ThyssenKrupp’s mobile application from the Servigistics Workforce application.Found and debugged various issues in the Servigistics Workforce importer, core application, and adapter code.Made enhancements to Servigistics Adapter tool to better support XML transformations needed by the client.Worked with Weblogic’s JMS module for sending/receiving data between client systems and the Servigistics application.Wrote custom business rules in JBoss Drools addressing alerting and scheduling issues for ThyssenKrupp.Helped finish integration coding for a very large EMC implementation of Servigistics Workforce Management solution. Aided in analysis and debugging of many issues involving performance, debugging Servigistics’ core products, coding workarounds for various API limitations under very tight deadlines.Aided in custom business rule implementation for parts planning at EMC.

Continued development of our Scheduler & Dispatcher application for fleet management (i.e., scheduling fleets of vehicles, managing employees, tickets, vehicles, etc., as well as integration of mapping, geocoding, routing). Also map rendering enhancements, development of some custom UI controls, import/export XML API.(Used to be at Transdecisions, which was acquired by Servigistics in 2006.)

Helped build the initial geocoding engine, which included implementation of a grammar + backtracking parser for address parsing, as well as loaders to read raw GIS data into Oracle. Worked with large database sets and helped optimize queries against street network tables of 30 million+ rows.Built the Rolloff, Service, and LTL front ends for Transdecisions fleet applications (customized dispatching applications for different industries). This included management of basic business objects for these industries (tickets, employees, dump sites, vehicles, work schedules, etc) as well as rich display of resulting schedules from back end, including several kinds of custom gantt chart components (editable, with drag&drop).

Co-founded a consulting company for Enterprise Java (J2EE)-related development contracts with Gene Florintsev. Worked on Peoplestreet project for livecards web service.

Participated in design + development of scripting languages, cross-language adapters, various development & testing-related tools. More specifically, helped develop a cross platform GUI toolkit (which involved development of various GUI components like buttons, checkboxes, etc. from 'scratch'). Also worked on development of a virtual machine + associated byte code for a scripting language originally called Delta. Helped develop a code generator that produced JNI connective code to enable calling legacy C libraries from Java.
