In my current role as CTO, I am engaged in modernizing our core product and continuously refining the landscape's cybersecurity position. I am fortunate to work actively with our development and automation teams while simultaneously adding new clients, enhancing the functionality of our software, and streamlining legacy functions and code to modern cloud-native options. Where needed, I am happy to provide direct hands-on contributions, allowing the organization to keep moving forward. Security and efficiency are core focus areas, helping our teams add value while reducing effort and methodically eliminating risk. In addition to my technical role, I continue to collaborate on business process and systems engineering with other teams and clients, providing a variety of business challenges and new experiences. Some critical achievements while CTO include:Redesigning our legacy product architecture to employ native AWS services, reducing cost and complexity by 50% or more while increasing resiliency, recoverability, and performance.Implemented a security review and audit program, vulnerability and compliance audit and alerting, and systems reporting and visualization. Engineer open-source solutions to reduce the cost and complexity of systems operations, program management, and internal client engagement.

IQ BackOffice is a leading finance, accounting and human resources outsourcing firm, offering 99.97% accuracy and up to 68% savings to companies around the globe.In my role at IQ, I am fortunate enough to play a key role in bringing together people, process, and technology to help improve the business accounting functions for our clients and IQ internally. Since joining IQ, I’ve successfully completed a number of full service accounting ERP conversions to Intacct and NetSuite and accounts payable implementations in various financial systems such as Oracle, Dynamics GP, Sage 100, Sage 300, JD Edwards, QuickBooks, and other systems. Combined with my many years working on SAP and other ERP implementations, working on these systems has been great in growing our technical expertise. In addition to working on client implementations, I’ve also rebuilt our implementations team to become a more agile and customer focused. We’ve gone from taking six months or more to complete a client project to two months on average, and are pushing the timeline more each day. This was accomplished through standardizing our processes, tools and focusing on the value added tasks and tailoring our work to become more repeatable in order to scale as sales continued to grow.System and process automation is another side of my work at IQ, where we work with a number of technologies to enable automation or elimination of system and client processes. This has enabled us to reduce the transaction based workload both in implementation and in normal operations, allowing the teams to take on a higher volume of work with the same resources.

Becoming part of the team at IQ BackOffice allowed me to engage various skills from my background and help scale the company to the next level. I took on multiple engagements while also constantly seeking process and systems enhancements in our internal processes as well as doing the same for our clients. Having worked at large multi-national businesses and other smaller firms helped me to bridge the gap between the current and the future desired states for our company.

Joining ICANN was an incredible experience, allowing me to rebuild the internal applications and operations team, institute IT governance, define the technology vision, and improve effectiveness of quality software design and delivery. This was a super fast paced organization, dealing with a wide array of responsibilities and staff across the globe with very deep skills in their respective areas. Some highlights of accomplishments and duties were:• Consolidated and retired numerous legacy applications, reduced touch points and focused on enterprise solutions to unify business needs, deliver cost reductions and improve customer service.• Led design and deployment of multiple simultaneous Salesforce.com solutions to various business units, eliminating manual spreadsheet based processes, stand-alone databases, and consolidating data and processes.• Stabilized the ERP environment, reducing transaction times by over 50%, eliminating critical system issues, enforcing change control, and improving application security processes.• Negotiated new ERP support agreement resulting in approximately 70% reduction of ad-hoc consulting costs.• Implemented a company-wide Project Portfolio & Task Management system in support of the CEO’s organizational transformation from management silos to a matrix based organization.• Influenced the move to SaaS (Software as a Service) for multiple core applications, resulting in decreased project overhead, improved delivery and increased application services with little impact to IT Operations.• Launched a Quality Assurance Team focused on agile quality solutions, automated regression and functional testing, and continuous improvement resulting in 35% fewer defects within the first six months.

Life at Line 6 had many challenging as well as entertaining times. I was fortunate enough to rejoin a former mentor, boss, and friend as the management team began the path of taking Line 6 to an initial public offering. The goals at a high level were to transform the IT organization to become a world class partner of the business units in the company and away from just being "the IT shop", all while simultaneously putting structure, systems and capabilities in place to prepare Line 6 to become a public company. Some highlights from my experience at Line 6 are:• Championed, negotiated and managed implementation of our global SAP implementation, providing process and data standardization, system reliability and the ability to keep pace with business growth.• Implemented Business Objects Data Services serving as chief architect and developer for data extraction, transformation, and integration of processes between SAP and other data sources.• Designed and developed business intelligence and reporting solutions allowing the business to cut information and decision cycle times from days down to minutes.• Developed the technology road-map for internal systems and support, establishing a technology strategy and providing budgetary forecast and controls on recurring expenses and future capital needs.• Achieved reduced server footprint and costs through aggressive systems virtualization, enterprise agreements and storage deployment while gaining over four times the service capabilities.• Provided management oversight on various website, sales and marketing initiatives delivered in a continuous and agile manner through the web development team. • Successfully eliminated $1M+ of exposure to software licensing penalties and lawsuits through system audits, negotiations with the Business Software Alliance, and implementation of policies and controls.

A good friend kept telling me of systems issues with SAP at Oklahoma City Public Schools, so when I saw they were seeking a new leader of the technology group to help with that and other functions, I made the decision to move to OKCPS. With the help of some great team members, we were able to affect a large number of positive changes for the district's technology functions. In addition to the improvements in technology, I'm very glad to have been a part of the team's development, and see several former staff members rise to senior level positions there and other districts or employers. A brief overview of accomplishments:• Eliminated $750k of annual operating costs through successful negotiation of SAP support contracts while migrating the system landscape from an external partner to an internal environment.• Delivered multi-phase IT transformation initiatives, consolidating infrastructure and systems resulting in staff productivity improvements and $80k in annual operating cost savings.• Implemented disaster recovery and governance solutions, safeguarding data and providing business continuity.• Instituted a Project Management Office and project management methodologies vastly improving planning, prioritization, execution, and delivery of technology engagements.

Hired to strengthen the global implementation team and infuse external expertise into the three regional teams while guiding deployments of subsidiaries and design of new capabilities.• Successfully delivered business process design, training, documentation and execution of the Wrigley Global SAP Model for the Guangzhou, China, Taiwan, Australia, and Chicago based subsidiary factories.• Provided leadership, cross-functional knowledge, and process guidance to team members, improving utilization of standard SAP manufacturing and logistics processes, while reducing customization needs.• Ensured adherence to global, unified process for SAP system configuration and operation, for procurement, inventory management, sub-contracting and inter-company logistics processes.

Initially hired to define ERP system needs for the operations team, was promoted after eight months to Senior Director of Information Technology and tasked to build a lean and agile team of technology professionals.• Enabled rapid integration of acquisitions with minimal disruption, and improved business management capabilities through a strategic enterprise model of infrastructure and application design.• Successfully delivered an aggressive SAP upgrade to version 4.6C from 3.1i, delivering the project on time and 10% under budget, while serving as project manager, logistics system analyst, and security administrator.• Provided hands-on configuration across multiple modules, forms development, and managed SAP security to facilitate project completion on time and below cost during critical business expansion opportunities.

• Identified over $5M in excess inventory purchases during a critical production changeover, allowing the corporate sourcing group to negotiate timely returns and exchanges of inventory.• Eliminated over 70% of factory PPV issues through system analysis and variance reporting databases. • Provided expert analysis of production issues and manufacturing processes enabling plant management to successfully turn around factory performance, and significantly reduce operational costs.
