At the University of Nottingham, our team contributes to groundbreaking research in sustainable carbon capture and sequestration (CCS). Specializing in biochar production and characterization, we support the DESNZ-funded 'Biowaste to biochar' project alongside industrial partner INVICA industries. My role encompasses leading the comparative analysis of biochar from both large-scale and lab-scale perspectives.Holding a PhD in Chemical Engineering, my work advances the UKRI-funded Greenhouse Gas Removal initiative through the 'Biochar Demonstrator' project. With a foundation in quality reporting and research skills, our work is pivotal to developing renewable solutions that synergize high energy demands with the goal of net-zero emissions, propelling the energy transition forward.

Research FellowUniversity Of Nottingham Jan 2023 - PresentNottingham, England, United KingdomI am working as the primary researcher for the DESNZ funded 'Biowaste to biochar (B to B) via Hydrothermal Carbonisation and Post-Carbonisation' project, in collaboration with industrial partner-INVICA industries (CPL). My responsibilities include the characterisation of biochar properties and the comparative analysis between large-scale and lab-scale biochar production. I am also actively working for the UKRI-funded Greenhouse Gas Removal (GGR) 'Biochar Demonstrator' for the comprehensive characterisation of biochar properties. -
Research AssistantUniversity Of Nottingham Apr 2022 - Jan 2023Research Assistant at the University of Nottingham (UoN), contributing to the multi-partner Accelerating (Carbon Capture and Storage) CCS Technologies (ACT) 3 project ‘Accelerating Basic Solid Adsorbent Looping Technology (ABSALT)’, funded by the Department for Energy Security & Net Zero. -
Phd In Chemical EngineeringUniversity Of Nottingham Oct 2018 - Jul 2022Nottingham, England, United KingdomI was the winner of the 'Faculty of Engineering Research Excellence PhD Scholarship' from UoN in 2018, a globally competitive award limited to 10 recipients. I completed my PhD in chemical engineering within 3.5 years, with four high-impact journal publications. My PhD research provided novel insights into the modelling of kerogen's micropore structure in shale, revealing moisture's impact on methane adsorption and significantly enhancing the accuracy of gas-in-place (GIP) resource estimation. -
3-Year Master'S ProgramChina University Of Petroleum, Beijing Sep 2015 - Jul 2018Beijing, ChinaMy research journey began in 2015 at the China University of Petroleum (Beijing), focusing on the molecular modelling of methane adsorption in minerals from shale. During my 3-year Master's program, which included 1 year of coursework and 2 years of research, I achieved a top 5% distinction. This early success led to the coveted 'Faculty of Engineering Research Excellence PhD Scholarship' from UoN in 2018, a globally competitive award limited to 10 recipients.
