I studied chemical engineering at the Nanjing University of Technology, obtained B. S. with Highest Distinction in 2003 and Ph. D. with Prof. Xiaohua LU in the field of TiO2 Photocatalysis in 2008. In the last year of Ph. D. study, my first research position started with Prof. Kwong-Yu Chan at The University of Hong Kong, the topic covered nanomaterials for electrocapacitors and fuel-cell electrocatalysts. The next station was at the Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität München from 2010 to 2013 with Prof. Jochen Feldmann. The reseach topic moved to chalcogenides as photovoltaic materials and photosynthesis proteins for photocatalysis. I then worked with Dr. Frank Jaeckel at University of Liverpool from 2013 to 2015 and helped to set up a new research group focusing on hybrid nanomaterials for low carbon energy sources. Before I moved to Aston University to take up a Lecturer position in Chemical Engineering in August 2015, I had a four-month experience working in National Graphene Institute, University of Manchester. My work has appeared in about 60 publications in high quality international journals (e.g. ACS Nano, Applied Catalysis B, Nanoscale, Small, J. Mater. Chem., Environ. Sci. & Technol., etc) with over 2200 citations.
