I am a co-founder of Astronomy.SG, a non-profit organization dedicated to bringing Astronomy education to students and the public in Singapore. In my role as Science and Education Coordinator, I:+ Advocate for education in STEM fields through Astronomy+ Liaise with educational and R&D organizations to bring Space Technology to students+ Work with schools to facilitate Astronomy educationI am also the local organizer of the NASA Cassini Scientist for a Day Essay Contest & Videoconference (Singapore edition) where we invite students to submit essays about the Saturnian system, then bring them for a live video conference with scientists and engineers working on the Cassini mission.

As a student in Prof. Bruce Clemens' group, I studied magnetron-sputtered thin films of aluminum-doped zinc oxide for use as transparent conducting films in solar cell applications. I characterized material property and structure as a function of various sputtering parameters.
As part of Professor Shouheng Sun's group, I developed various wet-chemical synthesis methods for gold nanostructures, including gold-iron oxide dumbbell nanoparticles for catalysis application and diameter-tunable gold nanowires.

I spent 2 summers as a research intern at DSO National Laboratories in Singapore where I worked on various materials science projects.In 2008, I synthesized and characterized shape-controlled gold nanoparticles for potential applications in non-linear optical attenuation.In 2009, I fabricated and characterized vanadium oxide thin films for photo-induced phase transition applications.
Under the guidance of senior teachers, I planned and taught classes and labs in 7th and 8th-grade Physical and Biological Sciences at Temasek Secondary School. In addition, I co-advised the school's Astronomy club and helped to train students for inter-school Astronomy quizzes.
