Advanced Materials Lab Research Intern- Research and Development: Designed and conducted full factorial design of experiment to synthesise a dispersant using RAFT polymerisation techniques that can be formulated to produce paint with high jetness and stability. - Laboratory Techniques: Performed RAFT polymerisation techniques to synthesise polymer dispersants used in paints and coatings, as well as sample preparations for characterisation which includes rotatory evaporation, formulation of paint and casting.- Data Analysis: Conducted characterisation of the synthesised polymers through ATR-FTIR, particle size and GPC analysis, as well as the measurements of physical properties using rheometer, colorimetric spectrophotometer and pendulum hardness tester amongst many others. Statistical analysis with the help of Minitab was also done to intepret the results for the design of experiment.- Scientific Writing: Aided in the writing of a patent document on an ongoing research in the company.
