My PhD research focuses on Zeolite material synthesis, characterization & application and Optical device fabrication & application in photocatalysis. My expertise includes:Extensive experience on HPLC, GC and MS maintenance, operation and troubleshooting, including hardware diagnosis, replacement and software update. Extensive research experience on nano-material characterizations involving X-Ray techniques (XRD, XPS), electron microscopy (SEM, TEM), textual property analysis (BET), acidity analysis (FTIR, Raman, titration, NMR), structural and intrinsic property analysis (TGA, TPD, TPR, TPO, Mass spectrometry and UV-Vis spectroscopy). Directly synthesized a novel two-dimensional titanium silicalite-1 zeolite. Systematically investigated the effects of synthetic parameters in the zeolite synthesis.Synthesized several heteroatoms (Fe, Ti, W, etc.) containing MFI zeolite nanosheets, which have been applied in biofuel production, selective oxidation, wastewater purification and methane upgrading reactions. Quantitatively evaluated Lewis acid sites concentration, strength and distribution in a series of hierarchical 2D lamellar TS-1 zeolites by a rigorous kinetics analysis. Studied the catalytic behaviors of 2D zeolite in epoxidation, hydroxylation, photocatalytic carbon dioxide reduction, volatile organic compounds decomposition and chemical warfare agent detoxification.
