Over 30 years of leading and team building. With 5,000+ hours of flight time in jets, turboprops and helicopters, I understand safety in a variety of airframes. My FAA flight check team conducted inspections in the busiest airspaces in the United States and ensured the airports we served remained operational. We certified navigational aids, instrument departures, arrivals and approaches to ensure the safety of our aviation community in all weather conditions. In addition to my operational experience, I also served as the Air Force Flight Standards Agency’s (AFFSA) Chief of Aircraft Rules and Procedures. Our AFFSA team worked daily with FAA regulatory teams and international flight rules experts to enable USAF global operations. As the USAF’s liaison between the Pentagon and FAA flight inspection, I have worked with different branches of the military and across government organizations to further our shared goals. I served as Chief of Flight Safety for the 89th Airlift Wing and later as the AF Lead USAF Safety Officer for Pentagon AF/A3 level action items. As a line flight commander at Columbus AFB, my 7 instructor pilots and I accomplished the initial jet training for 34 students a year.
