Dispatching system development for autonomous mining trucks.1.Spearheaded the design and deployment of an intelligent dispatch system for autonomous mining trucks, integrating a classic dispatching model (a multi-stage dispatching model including A*, LP,and heuristic algorithms).2.Designed collaborative platforms to unify disparate data systems across mining operations, enhancing decision-making and workflow efficiency.3.Managed end-to-end development of a 3D geological information system, pioneering visualization and data integration methods for geological software.
  • University Of Wollongong
    Phd Researcher
University Of Wollongong Jul 2013 - Jul 2018
Ph.D. research: A simulation model to study the truck-allocation in a truck-shovel system. I applied the open-source simulation software JaamSim and the Java programming language to develop a discrete-event simulation software package, named Truck & Shovel Java Simulator (TSJSim), to evaluate the performance of the truck-shovel mining system in an open pit. TSJSim incorporated a microscopic traffic model and a truck-allocation model. The stochastic and dynamic operational variables of the truck-shovel haulage system as well as the microscopic traffic factors, such as the bunching effect and the influence of the traffic management in a network system, were evaluated by the developed traffic simulation model. The truck-allocation strategies developed were able to consider the multi-trucks-at-one-time truck-allocation mode, the multiple decision-points along haul routes and the influence of the truck-allocation on the queuing time. The developed model provided the capacity for evaluating the operational KPIs under the influences of bunching, the main route management and the truck-allocation strategies to estimate the optimal truck fleet size for the entire truck-shovel network system and to allocate the trucks in the system in a more efficient way. From a strategic mine planning perspective, it offered an optimal configuration to manage a mine’s truck-shovel fleet, checked planned excavation rates in the “Life of Mine” schedule constrained by the traffic network and provided a better understanding of the truck-allocation strategies in the short-term mine management.

Master research: Participated in the Surface Mine Management Information System (SMMIS) project. In this project, I was responsible for the design and development of the power supply and drainage, coal quality testing and coal sales management sub-systems. The model development was based on the principles of Prototyping Development Method (PDM) and applied the Management Information System (MIS) technologies including:1. Microsoft.NET Framework, including Common Language Runtime (CLR), Base Class Library (BCL), ADO.NET (ActiveX Data Objects), ASP.NET and C# programming language.2. Data Base Management System (DBMS) and Structured Query Language (SQL) in SQL SERVER.3. Visual Studio development environment and CodeSmith generator.4. Other WEB development tools and technologies, including HTML, JavaScript, XML and RDLC reporting tools. On the basis of the coal quality testing and coal sales management, I also constructed mathematic models to evaluate and optimise the coal pricing system of a surface mine by applying both the mining engineering principles and the numerical analysis.
  • China University Of Mining And Technology
    Undergraduate Student
China University Of Mining And Technology Mar 2010 - Jun 2010
Undergraduate design for graduation: Design of Xianfeng surface mine. I used the knowledge of slope engineering and mining engineering to analyse the field materials collected from Xianfeng mine. On the basis of the geological data, I designed and developed a Visual Basic (VB) program to analyse the slope stability and determine the associated slope design parameters. I worked out a complete solution for the Xianfeng surface mining design, including the slope design, stripping ratio and ultimate pit limit determination, mining operation and technology selection, transportation method design, drilling and blasting design, equipment selection, mining production schedule determination and economic estimation. I used AutoCAD to draw all the required engineering graphs including the pit limit plan, final pit plan, pit overall layout and production schedule graph, applied VB language to develop a software programme to analyse the slope stability, and used Microscopic Excel to calculate the amount of mined material and make the production schedule; finally I used Microscopic Word to write the design manual.
