I am a Ph.D. candidate in the Learning Design and Technology Program within the Curriculum and Instruction Department at Purdue University. Prior to this, I spent 15 years as a lecturer in the English Department at Shanghai Sanda University. Additionally, I served on the dissertation committee, advising undergraduate students on their dissertation papers.Currently, I work as a graduate teaching assistant in the Oral English Proficiency Program (OEPP) at Purdue University. In this role, I help graduate students improve their presentation skills and conduct statistical analysis on oral English-speaking tests. I am also a co-instructor for two core courses in the LDT online master's program, "Learning System Design," and " Strategic Assessment and Evaluation, and " Advanced Practices in Learning Systems Design". These three courses delve into instructional design processes and evaluation processes within a project-based context.My research interests lie in applying emerging technologies, such as virtual reality (VR) and artificial intelligence (AI) in language learning, particularly as a pedagogical tool. I am also passionate about situated learning, experiential learning, systems thinking, competency-based education, and instructional design.I am proficient in designing and conducting quantitative research studies, including the use of statistical analysis methods such as t-tests, ANOVA, and regression analysis, and statistical software (e.g., SPSS, R) for data analysis and interpretation, ensuring rigorous and replicable findings.I am skilled in various qualitative research methodologies, such as thematic analysis, content analysis, and case studies, and proficient in data collection techniques including semi-structured interviews, focus groups, and observations, and adept at using software tools like NVivo for coding and analysis to identify patterns and insights.I am experienced in designing and executing mixed-method research that integrates both qualitative and quantitative approaches to provide a comprehensive understanding of complex research questions. I am capable of developing robust research frameworks, collecting and analyzing diverse data sets, and synthesizing findings to draw actionable conclusions.
