Wei-Ning 'Winnie' Yang is a Lecturer in Human Resource Management and Organisational Behaviour. Before joining King's, she worked at Alliance Manchester Business School, University of Manchester. This is also where she earned a Ph.D. in Business and Management in 2016. Winnie has experiences of teaching core organisational psychology topics to both undergraduate and postgraduate students, including leadership, recruitment and selection, teamwork, work motivation, and stress at work. She is also a member of the European Association of Work and Organisational Psychology.Winnie did not start with an academic background in Psychology though. She completed her undergraduate degree with two majors, one in Foreign Languages and Literature, and the other in Quantitative Finance. The varied background opened up an opportunity to study a Master’s degree in Business Administration. It was then that she came into the field of human resource management. Having worked in the industry for a couple of years, she witnessed the impact career plateau can have on employees and was therefore motivated to conduct more research around the topic. Off work, Winnie is a Chihuahua-lover, a passionate cross-stitcher and a happy swimmer.
