About Klaus Weinmaier

With my innovation consultancy “The Engagement Lab”, I enable enterprises and startups to develop or improve a product, a product strategy, or an innovation process. I am a digital business expert with many years of experience in the development of user-centered strategies and products, especially in the media industry. I am also the founder of ed-games, a platform that provides high school students with an interactive and fun learning experience through the power of gamification. In 1995, I co-founded Austria’s leading media platform derStandard.at, the first German-language online newspaper. From 2019 to 2020, I developed a product and market strategy for Tonio, a US-Austrian StartUp in the broadcast sector as the COO.I deepened my expertise in the field of digital business models and user-centered innovation in 2012 during a one-year research and work stay as a Knight Fellowship Affiliate at Stanford University. I received training at the Stanford Graduate School of Business and the Stanford School of Design (d.school).I studied Political Sciences at the University of Vienna and was a lecturer at the Hamburg Media School and at the Vienna University of Technology. After several years in Vienna, Palo Alto, Hamburg, Zurich, and Oxford, I am now based in New York City.
