As a Special Education Teacher at Milestone Democratic School, I apply my creative writing and education to create engaging and personalized learning experiences for students with diverse needs and abilities. I have a Master of Arts in Women's History from Sarah Lawrence College, where I researched and wrote about the intersections of gender, race, and imperialism in various historical contexts. I also have a Bachelor of Arts in History from Sonoma State University and spent a year studying history at Kingston University in the UK. Before becoming a Special Ed teacher, I was a Teacher/Advisor at the same school, where I facilitated student-led projects and democratic decision-making. I am passionate about empowering students to discover and pursue their interests, values, and goals, while also fostering a culture of respect, diversity, and inclusion in the classroom and beyond.
