AI Modeling and Medical Image Analysis (use Python, Matlab & C++) Aug.2017-Present– Machine Learning Projects: Collaborated and applied machine learning algorithms on various research projects, such as malignancy classification, nodule type classification, and impact of radiation dose and reconstruction on lung nodules.– Software Development: Built a python toolbox of the completed pipeline for machine learning projects, including data preprocessing, model training of several algorithms, such as logistic regression and random forest, performance evaluation and statistical analysis.– Deep Learning Modeling: Preprocessed 3D medical images, performed U-Net with deep supervision training on lung lobe and lung segments segmentation, developed a new loss function to improve results.– Computer Vision: Used morphological opening and level set algorithms to do solid component segmentation on subsolid lung nodules, and implemented the algorithms for software product using C++.– FDA Reader Study Protocol Drafting: Initialized and proposed statistical methodology on evaluation of computeraided lung nodule detection software for FDA clearance application.

• Design of Pilot Studies to Inform the Construction of Composite Outcome Measures – Biostatistical research on Alzheimer’s disease. Proposed an optimization method to measure earliest disease-related changes (the Preclinical Alzheimer's Cognitive Composite), and reduced sample sizes by more than 50% compared with standard method.– Merged and cleaned data in different formats, i.e. long & wide datasets.
