"What does technology mean for the future of accountants?""I don't know."When I got this question during my first partner interview, I replied with a long awkward silence and that sad answer. I thought I couldn't talk about it because I got almost zero practical experience back then, even though I knew I have a strong interest in both accounting and technology. But later, I realized that was exactly what he was asking. He was asking about my passion. It is my passion that guides me to explore those answers. To push me kept learning, picking up new skills, and trying different internships. It is because of that curiosity, I learned the basic concepts of business, accounting, and internal audit; and know to take one step further by using my coding/data analytics skills to help companies embrace changes and improve efficiency. From using Tableau for report visualization to building ACH function for the company to cut down payment process time, or to using analytical models to identify high-risk transactions. My enthusiasm has helped me turning Challenges & Opportunites into competitive advantages.I believe that work is not about individual development; it is about sharing your passion and perspectives on the world and growing as a whole. Through meeting new people and building new relationships, following my passion, I will be able to explore/contribute/define my answer one day."What does technology mean for the future of accountants?"The answer is to be defined, so let's work together to pave our ambitions into the future, start right now!
