Responsibilities includes optimizing an expression construct for viral delivery intomammalian cells. Constructed various expression plasmids and investigate multiple smallmolecule inducible systems. Lab skills developed includes cloning, transfection, and lentiviral delivery.

Church Lab

Built metagenomic libraries for immunoglobulin A (IgA) bound bacteria from gut micro-biome before and after exercise. Experiences include using a flow cytometer for Fluorescence-activated cell sorting (FACS).

Responsibilities included building and amplifying metagenomic libraries for 16s rRNA, whole genome, and transcriptome sequencing, optimizing anaerobic culturing of bacteria communities and single strain isolation and help in the development of in vitro bacteria and colon cell co-culture assays.
