Equipment Operation, Troubleshooting, & Theory:-Installs, tests, and commissions SATCOM systems.-Subject Matter Expert (SME) on all systems and projects.-Applies technical standards, theories, concepts and techniques to troubleshoot and solve equipment trouble.-Predicts performance and/or operational characteristics of a SatCom solution under a given scenario.-International Earth Station Certification Testing preferred.-Understanding of Promina switch, and Crypto devices in order to work with military systems.-Cysco systems understanding, with an understanding of VOIP, routers, IP network experience, and switches.-Have a working knowledge of LAN/WAN architecture and T1/E1 digital channel structure.-Be familiar with TCP/IP, and ATM protocols typically used in hybrid circuits.-Demonstrate the ability to diagnose the point of failure from knowledge of signal flow.-Understand and diagnose failures from wiring and interconnect diagrams.-Demonstrate proficiency with test equipment results in determining circuit fault isolation.-Demonstrate the ability to diagnose and resolve spectral anomalies.-Calculate load considerations in regards to circuit capacity and equipment requirements.-Research and discuss antenna specific physical limitations.-Demonstrate a working knowledge of UL approved distribution panels and installation considerations.-Have a working knowledge of power cables and connectors currently in use.-Describe the function of an identified back up power system.-Express a high level of proficiency by directing the generator diagnostics and repair process.-Able to diagnose failures in generator fuel intake, air flow, coolant and lubrication's systems and then repair problems.-Provide on-the-job training as needed by local customer.
