In 2003 I started as divisional finance director with Stewart Milne, where I supported business growth of the construction division from £18M to £55M in 2006. From 2006 to 2012 I worked as FD for construction group UBC Group. In 2012 I joined Survival Craft Inspectorate, an international manufacturing and engineering services group, and was promoted firstly from Accountant to CFO and then secondly to CEO, prior to the sale of the business in 2015/16. I partnered with the Owner/MD to support the senior management team delivery of record year-on-year profits through greater understanding of profit drivers, improved cost control and driving down the cost base; during this period SCI broke into Business Insider’s top 500 Scottish companies listing. In 2017 I set out and delivered a turnaround plan to convert a loss-making property developer into a profitable one. I supported the senior management team through a difficult trading period ensuring everyone focussed on transforming the business and meeting agreed business objectives. Following an interim FD role at Bon Accord Care, I was delighted to combine my passion for Sports and Finance in my last role as Director of Finance at Aberdeen Sports Village prior to retirement.
