Deb Wells is the Operational Excellence Manager in the Information Services Department of the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia. She has a passion for making things function better and for providing an optimal work environment for staff and colleagues. This makes her ideal for managing a process improvement program that works with staff and leaders across diverse functions to create efficiencies, increase customer value, and grow capabilities for innovation. In the first 20 months of the program that she initiated, it has realized a reduction in over 8,500 hours spent on operations tasks in the department, cut in half the time it takes to deliver equipment to customers, and saved clinical staff time through automation and streamlined processes. Staff love the program and the way that it empowers them to identify and solve problems in their daily work. Deb has held a wide variety of positions across her career and has worked in many different industries from academia to business to healthcare. Her success in diverse roles has demonstrated an ability to be flexible, adapt to change, and quickly learn new skills required to thrive in new areas. This history major turned technology expert turned Lean Six Sigma professional is eager to continue learning and taking on new challenges.Deb is an ardent Phillies fan whose favorite player is the Phantic.
