Wema means goodness in Swahili. This initiative stems from a conviction that all children deserve goodness around them, especially when their lives are challenged and threatened by illness. Wema Healthcare Initiative advocates for children with cancer in Sub-Saharan Africa and strives to generate the much-needed momentum to ensure that African children benefit from current medical discoveries and contribute to future treatment.Wema relies on three pillars of goodness: care, advocacy and training/research. By relying on these strategies Wema is able to offer quality treatment and care to children and their families suffering from cancer. Wema strives to provide excellence in preventative, curative, and palliative pediatric care.
