Line Haul Dispatch: Responsibilities included coordinating with Central Dispatch to efficiently move overages where opportunities existed and instruct dock supervisors any changes to plans to move their overages in certain freight lanes. Also responsible for providing drivers with their dispatch instructions, and any necessary hazardous material paperwork. Responsibilities also included ensuring any time definite or special services shipments were moved timely and according to any special routing. Assisted Road Driver manager and shop manager with driver specific issues, relating to equipment or personal issues, i.e. DOT physicals, vacation requests etc.Inbound Planning: Responsible for designing local city routes to move freight efficiently according to geographic location, however at the same time designing routes in order to meet customer needs to include appointment times, special services, and expedited deliveries.Dock Supervision: Supervised a crew on the inbound shift to ensure city routes were loaded according to the load plan, while ensuring hazardous materials were loaded correctly and safely and freight was loaded to minimize any damages or safety issues.Additional Experience: Also worked on the hub shift building directs into other hubs to minimize re handle of freight. Responsibilities included ensuring associates were working safely and efficiently and using decking materials to maximize the use of trailer space. In addition, instructed associates to use materials such as cardboard and pallets to brace and protect freight from being damaged en route. Responsibilities also included ensuring hazardous materials were handled properly and any spills were immediately reported and cleanup procedures were followed with regard to company policy and safety
