Computer Science professor and researcher at Federal University of Uberlandia. Wendel has a Master's and a Ph.D. in Computational Optimization with a focus on Mixed Integer NonLinear Programming (MINLP) and Global Optimization. Wendel is the head developer of Muriqui Optimizer, an open-source software for solving MINLP problems. Wendel was awarded with the COIN-OR Cup 2020 for his work about Muriqui Optimizer. He also has experience in C++ and Python programming, and he is the author of a free python programming introduction book, to democratize access to the learning of computer programming to all Portuguese speakers.
