Wendela is a boardroom professional in governance, sustainability and legal in the private (corporate + advisory) and public sector. An international executive with broad global and cross-cultural experience whose expertise is formed by long term immersion in multiple sectors (energy, food, public transport, finance) and cultures.In the first 25 years of her career, Wendela specialised in law and legal leadership and leadership over other corporate staff functions, while living in 4 countries across 2 continents. She led dedicated international and local multi-disciplinary teams up to 180 FTE professionals. During this time, Wendela learned how companies get in and then out of trouble. And how to be a change agent. To create frameworks and align people to work towards solutions - and avoidance of repeated issues. This led to seeing how leadership in corporates can help create a better world in an integrated way; by creating value and synergy among company, people, products and services. On this basis, Wendela took a 5 year redirection in 2017 to serve public and civil interests and sustainable causes more directly, with and from within the corporate world. She worked as GC of NS, the Dutch national railway company, and APG, which serves the pension entitlements of 5 million households. As per September, 2021, Wendela was appointed CLO and executive board member at Lipton Teas and Infusions. Fluent in English and Dutch, proficient in French, Spanish, Norwegian.
