About Wendell Simpson, Ph.D.
Suppose you were given an under-performing project organization and asked to turn it around? Their problems? Projects take way too long and are routinely late. Where exactly would you start? What precisely would you do? That's what we set out to discover when I joined ProChain almost 18 years ago. The Critical Chain approach to project management was in its infancy. Early one-off applications showed that the potential was enormous--projects were finishing much faster AND more predictably. It's one thing to have potential. It's quite another to know how to tap into that potential. So that's what we've focused on. Over the years we've become experts in the implementation of Critical Chain project management. We're not talking just software or training or consulting or mentoring. We're talking all of them integrated into a coherent, purposeful implementation. That's our specialty.We've built a track record I'm extremely proud of. Our clients tell their stories at our ProChain Users conferences--we just hosted our 16th. Organizations with hundreds of projects and thousands of people have taken their on-time percentage from dismal levels to 90+%. And kept it there for 10+ years. Cycle times cut in half. Chaos replaced with a focused sense of coordinated purpose. My job is to devise strategies for companies who want the results we can provide. I travel the country meeting potential clients, learning about their situation, helping them see what is possible, and formulating strategies that solve their problems. When clients engage us, I lead their implementations and stick with them until they get the improvements they need.
