CurrentA one year contract job as a Volunteer Coordinator has led a to a great career in the non profit sector. After holding multiple roles in the organization, Wendi became the Executive Director at The Food Bank in 2007. Bringing more than 25 years of non-profit experience to the role, Wendi has been instrumental in the development of new programs and services at The Food Bank, while cultivating relationships with community partners to strengthen the organization’s collective capacity. Under Wendi’s leadership, the Food Bank has seen substantial increases in food distribution, with more than 6.8 million pounds of food provided to local community programs, agency partners and provincial food banks. Her passion for program development, fundraising and collaborative partnerships have resulted in significant organizational enhancements and community benefits. Wendi has provided national leadership in food systems change in roles with Feed Ontario Board of Directors and Executive Committee and Food Banks Canada Board of Directors and Member Council. She was also on Food Bank Canada’s food safety and national food distribution advisory groups. On the global stage, Wendi has made presentations about innovative and collaborative food service delivery programs in hopes of improving access to food for those in need and implementing strategies to address food insecurity.
