Wendy Barrett, MSW ,is the Positive Behavior Support manager at Stone Soup Group, an agency that provides advocacy services for individuals with special needs and their families . Wendy is the parent of a child who experiences special needs, is a Field Instructor for college interns with the University of Alaska in Anchorage and has over 25 years’ professional experience providing advocacy services to the children and families in Alaska. Wendy has previous job experience as a Supervisor in Investigations with Child Protective Services in Alaska. Wendy has also been supervisor for a local non-profit mental health agency ,program manager for the kids club, case manager for a local non-profit mental health agency , case management coordinator for 3 years for Reclaiming Futures, a collaborative initiative with federal health and social services, mental health/substance abuse/court related initiative, a team teacher/ assistant in the Positive Behavioral Support program and psychological intern with the Anchorage school district providing special education testing district wide for 4 and 1/2 years in Alaska as well.Wendy has experience in presenting case management trainings as a supervisor for the private and public sectors, most recently presenting statewide trainings in regards to child protective services safety assessment practice model and previously participated in giving presentations statewide for the Reclaiming Futures project. Wendy has also owned her own business for 16 years in the Building maintenance and construction field providing customer service to residential, commercial and government clientele.
