The Union and Snyder Counties Transition Council is made up of school, community, and organizational individuals who are stake holders in the planning and support for students with special needs as they transition from school to post-school outcomes. Among the many tasks the council is responsible for is planning an bi-annual transition conference for students who attend the schools in the counties of Union and Snyder (and most recently, Northumberland). Additionally, we work collaboratively to provide transition clinics and other events to help students and families to plan and connect with others who may assist with secondary transition activities and events. These Clinics are Person Centered and have been replicated throughout the state in various areas.

The Pennsylvania Association of Careet & Technical Education Special Populations is a professional organization dedicated to bringing together individuals who work in Career & Technical Education across the state of PA and who have involvement with and a passion for working with individuals with special needs. As President, I helped coordinate an annual conference, represented CTE and Special Needs at various conferences, and helped to improve the opportunities to recognize both students who have achieved goals and the individuals and organizations who have and continue to help those who have special needs to reach their post-school and career outcomes.

AIDS Resource is a non-profit AIDS Service Organization dedicated to providing services to those who are affected by HIV/AIDS and educating the community about the spread of HIV.
