The purpose of this needs assessment was to identify strategies, tools and techniques to improve the effectiveness of both individual organizations and the Great Lakes non-profit water community as a whole. The project included research through surveys and interviews with NGOs and funding organizations leading to a report with recommendations on how best to fill gaps.May 2012 - August 2012Provided research, logistical and administrative support for the Canadian Environmental Grantmakers' Network for their national conference, fundraising opportunities, and their information management system.

Volunteer position serving as a Director and Treasurer for Freshwater Future, an organization that builds effective community-based citizen action to protect and restore the water quality of the Great Lakes basin by providing financial assistance, communications and networking assistance and technical assistance to citizens and grassroots watershed groups throughout the Great Lakes basinTreasurer from January 2009 to present. Accountable for leading, managing and administering the operations of the organization including strategic planning, annual operating plans and budgets, program management and supporting the Board of Directors, staff, supporters, and volunteers. Includes the development, management and evaluation of core programs ranging from land acquisition to fundraising, recruiting, training and managing a small team of staff, relationship management with supporters, volunteers, Board members, donors and partners.

Accountable for the management of the Ontario Stewardship Program during maternity leave for the Stewardship Program Manager. Included overseeing the implementation of the business objectives for the stewardship program for the 2006-07 fiscal year and supporting and managing a team of eight stewardship staff and interns in six sub-regions within the Ontario region.

Accountable for the management of the Georgian Bay-North Stewardship Program in support of stewardship for properties owned or managed by the Nature Conservancy of Canada. Completed core stewardship activities including property management plans and field inventories for properties owned or managed by the organization and raised funds in support of stewardship activities as identified from property management plans. Also was involved in coordinating volunteers assisting with fundraising, communication, and stewardship activities in support of the ongoing conservation of properties.

Accountable for overseeing a partnership project between the Nature Conservancy of Canada and Ministry of Natural Resources to complete an extensive ecological inventory of the eastern coast of the Georgian Bay. Led the inventory phase including coordinating the collection of field data, and managing both the staff and project budget. The project included consultants, summer staff, and volunteers to complete the inventory of 26 Crown land natural areas and 25 private land natural areas along the eastern shore of Georgian Bay for a study area covering more than 200,000 hectares.The result of the project was a published report - The Ecological Survey of the Eastern Georgian Bay Coast (2005) which Wendy co-authored.
