Last time I updated my about page in 2022, I had just experienced a PE (blood clots) following covid and was planning to get my life back on track, my body back into gear and live life following an eventful 2 years after numerous lockdowns and caring for my partners mum whilst dabbling with some network marketing at home, at least until I could find the next professional path life would take me down. However, life sometimes takes you down paths you never expect to experience and I for one never expected in my whole lifetime to ever have major surgery on my lungs as the blood clots I had left me with scar tissue, causing what they call Pulmonary Hypertension which was putting pressure on my heart & lungs. My NHS heroes as I call them all, who refererred me from the Respiratory team at the Royal Berkshire Hospital to the Pulmonary Hypertension team at Hammersmith Hospital, who have guided me through a very challenging time after numerous tests, referred me to the Royal Papworth hospital where thank god I qualified for PEA surgery. For those of you who don't know it is opening the sternum chest bone up and removing the scar tissue from my lungs and this is the only hospital in the UK that does this operation and are fast becoming world leaders in this technology surgery.January the 25th this year I had my operation where I was decidely brave and had the wonderful PEA team with numerous nursing staff, health care workers, physio and many other team members looking after me and they have literally given me my life back.I'm still amazed that I've actually lived through and survived something like this and last week did my first proper power walk for two years.I'm now working on the next leg of my journey and slowly getting my body back into gear, which believe me after 2 years of not being able to go to the gym, power walk and dance has left me feeling like a sack of potatoes, but I will get back to being a spring onion no matter how long it takes and BEST OF ALL, the operation CURED ME of my pulmonary hypertension and I can get back into the professional rat race.I'm so happy to have been saved and cured, even though it's all still sinking in as it has been an incredible journey, but it's all down to the AMAZING NHS STAFF who have been there every step of the way, though words are still not enough as there is no greater gift than life.Keep watching for Wendy's crowdfunding aiming to reach a million pounds not only for the dedicated 3 NHS teams that saved me, but to help care and save the lives of others too.
