PIPs Education Fund (PEF) is a NY State 501(c)(3) whose charitable purpose was to help bridge the education equity gap by turning student engagement in health, sustainability, and community service into financial support for school and daily life. We envisioned a world in which in which every time students ride the bus, bike, volunteer, or recycle, they are rewarded with PIPs, a ‘currency of good,’ that can be used to unlock scholarship grants or redeemed for discounts on healthy living essentials. In this world, students thrive through sustained commitment to purposeful actions that support the community, reduce carbon emissions, and advance the UN SDGs.

I was the co-founder and president of PIPS Rewards LLC, a wholly owned charitable subsidiary of PIPs Education Fund (PEF), a New York State 501(c)(3) public foundation. Our charitable purpose was to help bridge the education equity gap by turning student engagement in health, sustainability and community service into grant support for school fees and credits to meet other basic needs.
