Fighting to improve the health and quality of lives for those at the intersection of food insecurity and food allergy/celiac diseaseMy focus is:• Securing funding to increase access to allergen-friendly foods, health education and support• Providing guidance to emergency food providers (food pantries, schools, backpack meal programs, healthcare systems, college student services, etc.) to support their abilities to accommodate people with special diet needs• Raising awareness among physicians, social workers, dietitians and other patient-facing representatives about the negative health consequences caused by lack of access to allergen-friendly food and other critical resources • Providing a referral solution to physicians, social workers, and dietitians for patients who must adhere to food avoidance diets • Collaborating with organizations that specialize in food allergy advocacy, research, support and education and providing a bridge for their coordinated efforts to address food insecurity• Leveraging National programs to Increase access to food, education and support for individuals and families in local communities • Connecting Title 1 schools with allergen-friendly food for students who are at risk for weekend hunger and who also have specific diet needs
