Wendy is leading a pilot for the transformation of the Norma Jean and Edward Meer Apartments in West Bloomfield into the first of its kind JSL Live and Learn Community, featuring a schedule of diverse and dynamic learning and enrichment classes offered by the finest local, regional and national experts, institutions and cultural partners, designed to foster resident engagement, socialization and growth.JSL's Live and Learn Community is scheduled to launch in late spring 2024

As Director of Onsite & Special Programs at DOROT, Wendy created innovative programming to support DOROT’s engaged community of older adults. Pivoting from all on-site programs to all-remote offerings during Covid-19, Wendy and her team created a robust program schedule to encourage elders to continue forging social connection among peers, enhancing overall wellbeing by providing opportunities for discussion, storytelling, and the arts, engaging 69% more seniors in FY21 versus FY20. In addition to programming responsibilities at DOROT, Wendy spearheaded strategic planning team for agency and managed The Pearls of Wisdom, a touring ensemble of elder storytellers, and DOROT’s participation in the What Matters initiative, assisting community members with their advance health care directives. Wendy is certified as a What Matters instructor, able to train facilitators to conduct individual or group conversations about end-of-life wishes.

Wendy launched DOROT's Lasting Impressions initiative, focusing on creative aging and legacy arts programming, as well as helping clients with issues surrounding advanced care planning. Created and provided opportunities for older adults to reflect upon, discuss and record personal experiences and accomplishments, share their journeys and life lessons. Responsibilities also included community collaboration, writing resource and promotional materials, recruiting older adult participants, conducting volunteer outreach to assist with and support program activities, as well as program tracking, budget development and analysis.
