CurrentI began my career as a CNA, subsequently becoming NREMT-B then NREMT-P certified. • Ambulance services for Brookings and surround areas• Responsible for emergency and non-emergency patient care and treatment from the time of call response until patient care is taken over by appropriate hospital staff. • Operate ambulance in a safe manner in all weather conditions with the understanding of state laws that govern the use of emergency vehicles. • Complete all pertinent ePCR in a timely manner. • Communicate with dispatch, ER staff& other EMS agencies. • Maintain, inspect, organize and clean ambulances as necessary.Extra duties/responsibilities I have undertook:• Time card completion and adjustment for entire ambulance dept. • Monthly education for ambulance staff, including getting courses approved by state. • Teaching ACLS, PALS, BLS for all BHS employees. CISM/PEER support founder for the BHS. • Being the liaison for scheduling PR events such as national Night out, Safety Town and Ambulance tours for schools and other public groups.• Implemented Vial of L.I.F.E in the community as well as teach Safe Sitter and Safe@home classes for children, promoting wellness and preventative education. • Currently developing a caregiver course directed to family members taking care of loved ones at home with medical needs and conditions, in efforts to lessen the strain on emergency resources in the Brookings community.(See 22 related licenses and certifications)
