Wendy is currently Co-President and Director at Indevia Accounting Inc., a company she co-founded with husband Dev Purkayastha. She has responsibilities primarily at the Mumbai office for Operations, HR, Training, Facilities and Logistics. Indevia has been a success story beyond her wildest dreams, giving her an opportunity to travel to her favorite country, create jobs and mentor a workforce of over 70+ professionals, help US multi unit franchise owners solve a critical problem by always knowing where their money is at a great price, and build wealth for all concerned. Prior to this, she had her own gourmet prepared food delivery business, where she enjoyed logistics, finance, training and management while solving one of life's big problems, how to get delicious, homemade food delivered at the push of a button. Her previous work experience included many years in the financial services industry, including as a financial planner at CIGNA and USAA, a Trust Officer at First National Bank of Central Jersey, NatWest, HomeFed, and Danielson Trust, then as a Planned Giving professional at The Bishop's School and the Foundation for Educational Achievement, holding titles to the executive level. She is a CLU and ChFC, and has an MBA from Boston University. She simultaneously enjoyed a 31 year career in the US Army Reserve, holding positions of increasing responsibility, including three commands, and retired at the rank of colonel. She is a graduate of the US Army War College with a Masters in Strategic Studies. Wendy has held many leadership positions on non-profit boards, and is currently the director of the Purkayastha Family Foundation. She is currently a member of the giving circle Women Give San Diego and the Treasurer of the Soroptimist International of Coronado.She recently went off the board of the Silver Strand chapter of the Military Officers Association of America to focus on scholarship giving for Indevia and the family foundation.
