Around 20 years of experience working in education from Kindergarten to Higher Education. I have worked in Higher Education for 12 years. I had 4 years of experience working in a dormitory maintaining discipline and reporting disciplinary actions and dorm damages. Over the past 8 years I have worked in the TRIO Student Support Services department. I placed my focus on guiding students through determining how they learn and the strategies they think will help them overcome their educational challenges. While working with the SSS program I completed a master's in Management and Leadership and a Doctorate in Business Administration and Organizational Leadership.My Dissertation focused on the connection between knowledge-sharing and the mission, vision, and purpose. If employees do not know the mission, vision, and purpose then they are more likely to fall back on what they know from other colleges. These habits may not follow the objectives of the college and may be working against the completion of the College's organizational goals.Position leadership brings people together by placing focus on building an organizational culture that is driven by the mission, vision, and purpose which will increase the ability to achieve the organizational goals. This guidance and encouragement places focus on helping the student determine how they learn and the strategies they need to succeed their way. Too many students try to learn the way others do and it isn't working for them. If they understand how they learn and apply the resources they need to succeed then it is very rewarding to see them thrive. Under the V.P. of Strategy & Innovation we bring the focus of the organization in the same direction through the use of the mission, vision, and purpose. This focus helps get people on the same page and increases the acheivement of institutional goals.
