Dr. Wendy Ryan is a former health and physical education teacher and has over twenty years of experience in the fields of education and health as a teacher and researcher. Dr. Ryan is currently an independent research and program evaluation consultant and has a private counselling practice. Dr. Ryan has experience in all phases of research and program evaluations including conducting systematic literature reviews, creating evaluation frameworks, developing data collection instruments, conducting interviews and focus groups, analyzing qualitative and quantitative data, and writing reports. She has expertise in both quantitative and qualitative methods and has been involved in overseas program evaluation capacity building projects. She has authored several peer-reviewed publications, conference presentations, and evaluation reports. Dr. Ryan also has expertise in the areas of school climate and bullying and has published articles and made presentations in Canada and abroad. Dr. Ryan is a Canadian Certified Counsellor through the Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association. She has experience counselling adults, children and teens. Dr. Ryan specializes in counselling for stress, depression, anxiety, and coping with losses such as job, divorce, illness and death. She offers eco-therapy (psychological healing with nature) as well as Walk & Talk therapy. Her mission through her Waterfront Wellness Centre is to help others achieve health, happiness, and balance in their lives.
