I am an accomplished, knowledgeable and versatile Special Needs Educator, offering extensive experience in teaching English Second Language, Life Skills and Natural Science to Grade 4 to 7 learners. My credentials include a BA Humanities Degree, as well as a Postgraduate Certificate in Education. I am well-versed in the ADEK, IB, American Common Core and SA (CAPS) curriculums. I demonstrate expertise in teaching complex learning difficulties, differentiation in the classroom and assessment accommodations and the coaching of soccer and netball. In more recent roles I have been responsible for guidance around IEP planning and decision making around IEP Goals, Academic, Social and Independent which involves decision making with the Behaviour Team, discussing prior learning, social and emotional development of students. My diverse set of skills covers excellent classroom management, lesson planning, subject knowledge, learner support, team leadership, presentation, communication and motivation. I am comfortable working in deadline-driven environments as part of a team or on an individual basis. I possess the ability to take initiative and manage time effectively. I consider myself a dedicated, proactive and goal orientated individual, who always strives to learn more and to deliver more than expected. I am known for building strong working relationships and I am committed to being a confident and respected member in my environment.
