Wendy York became the 15th dean and first female to lead business education at Clemson University in July 2018, following successful leadership roles in business and academia. Dean York oversees all academic, administrative, and financial development functions of the Wilbur O. and Ann Powers College of Business and its 6500+ students, 200 faculty and 90 staff. She came to Clemson by way of Stanford's Graduate School of Business, bringing strong credentials in academic administration, business and entrepreneurial leadership success. At Stanford, she earned an undergraduate degree with High Honors and Distinction (high grade point). She then earned an MBA in strategy and operations at Harvard Business School.Prior to the leadership role at Stanford, Dean York served in executive-level positions in for-profit and non-profit organizations. Her career journey included start-ups, venture capital and employment with companies such as Bechtel and Bank of America. With her business and leadership insights, Dean York is charged with producing the next generation of innovative and ethical Clemson-educated leaders who will excel in an evolving 21st century business environment. She will also contribute to the increasing stature of Clemson University.
