My friends would describe me as a perfectionist overachiever. That would be true. I do not want to behave this way but I can tell you that these are residual symptoms of my traumatic life experiences. I am working on balancing these things out because I now know that it IS possible to retrain your brain to calm the nervous system and create new pathways for processing. We can move forward from trauma. I know this because my friends would also be able to tell you that I used to have more residual trauma behaviors than I do today. I used to over-apologize, feel guilt and shame often, lose my temper, feel out of control, often get overwhelmed, shut down, disengage, withdraw, faint, and then blame myself for everything. I used to, but I don’t anymore! I admit I do occasionally regress momentarily, but for the most part, I have learned that while some of those behaviors were necessary for me to survive the traumas I went through, they do not serve me anymore. In fact, they were blocking me from feeling and experiencing life the way I want to. This healing process has been life changing for me! I now feel:More balance More peace More trust More fulfillment More courage More authentic connection with myself and others More spiritual connection More joy More Wholeness More clarity More LoveThis is why my partners and I co-founded Mending Trauma. Our Whole Health Lab program teaches people how they can retrain their bodies and brains to move forward and experience a more fulfilling life. I want to share what I have learned and help people feel better!

Coo & Co-FounderMending Trauma Jul 2021 - PresentI went to San Diego State University and discovered that I love Biology. Cell Biology was my favorite undergraduate class. I earned my B.S. in Biology and then lucked into a Pre-Doc Fellowship at the National Institutes of Child Health in their Biopsychology unit. It was there that I learned how Cell Biology, Physiology, and Psychology intertwine, and I was fascinated. After a few years there, I went through the John Hopkins Hospital program to become a board-certified Cytologist. Throughout my career, I have also been teaching classes on Theology and spiritual connection. This has caused me to observe that the spiritual is infused into our bodies and brains at the cellular level. I now believe in a holistic approach to healing. (Body+Mind+Spirit=Whole Health). This formula has helped me heal from the damages that my past traumas have caused and also has helped me figure out how to let go of many of the residual dysfunctional trauma behaviors that no longer serve me. I want to share this formula with others so they can unblock themselves and live with peace, hope, and clarity. -
CytologistQuest Diagnostics Clinical Laboratories, Inc. Sep 2019 - May 2022Cytopathology is both an art and a science. A Cytotechnologist looks at a beautiful landscape of human cells under a microscope. Each person's cells are uniquely their own and display as a beautiful and intricate work of art. A Cytotechnologist must be able to appreciate that artistic landscape of cells, and then use scientific knowledge and criteria to interpret and diagnose it. -
Seminary TeacherCes Aug 2016 - May 2022Elk Grove, California, United StatesIt is an honor and a privilege to have the opportunity to discuss theological teachings, symbolism, and spiritual practices with youth and young adults. In classes we discuss how to apply the theologic principles of love, hope, charity, and spiritual consciousness into everyday living practices. I learn more from them than they ever learn from me.
