Alane is the founder of Alane Adams Studios which focuses on creating multi-faceted content to inspire a love of reading and writing in students. Her award-winning literacy program BETWEEN THE PAGES is a five-part video series designed to teach students how books get written and inspire them to write their own stories. AAS has also produced two kids-original animated short, R.A.KO. the Robot written by fifth grade students in Carlsbad, CA and Rufus The Rhino written by 6th grade students in Wisconsin. These kids-originals serve to inspire kids to see the value in the simplest of stories and make their imagination soar.Alane earned a bachelor's degree in business administration from the University of Southern California, as well as her Certified Public Accounting license. Over two decades, she helped build one of the largest metals recycling companies on the West Coast, before leaving to pursue other interests. Alane founded the Rise Up Foundation in 2008 which today helps thousands of teachers every year get the items they need for general classroom support from supplies to new books to classroom grants. Rise Up hosts an annual Impact Retreat for teachers across the country to come together and build community.Alane is also the author of several award-winning series for kids. THE LEGENDS OF ORKNEY is a tween fantasy series drawing on Norse mythology and LEGENDS OF OLYMPUS which draws on Greek mythology. Her historical picture book series, THE COAL THIEF, THE EGG THIEF, THE SANTA THIEF, and THE CIRCUS THIEF focus on Americana history in the 1920s. Alane's prequel series, the WITCHES OF ORKNEY was written especially for younger readers hungry for an adventure tale. As a professor at Chapman University, Alane developed a popular course on social entrepreneurship. She has been active with humanitarian organizations such as UNICEF, focusing on projects that impact the lives of impoverished children. She has visited UNICEF programs in Laos, Angola, Guinea and Nepal, seeing firsthand the effort required to make lasting change. Alane obtained her Masters of Arts Degree in Diplomacy, focusing on the global causes of endemic poverty. Her areas of expertise include microfinance, social impact, entrepreneurship, and creating teacher impact. She has hiked all over the world including climbing Mt. Kilimanjaro and trekking through Peru, Slovenia, and the Canadian Rockies. Her success as a female entrepreneur, philanthropist, author, professor, and mother of three boys makes her an inspirational icon for women in entrepreneurial and creative industries.
