Oversees and directs organization’s financial affairs, including financial and capital planning, financial statements, budgeting, financial review, and materials management. Monthly and annually responsible for Regulatory Financial Compliance audits with IRS, Banking, Payroll, Tax, Pension, Payroll audits, etc. Developed and implemented finance and accounting infrastructure to support 5 separate Corporate Entities. Responsible for the month end close process and assist the controller to ensure financial accuracy. Prepare journal entries and enter into Lawson. Review junior staff level entries. Processed all the accrual accounting functions during month end close. Manage and close the fixed asset system. Process all Medicare revenue on a monthly basis. Review the financial statements to ensure accuracy of expenses by completing expense schedules. Explain any variances or make any adjustments as needed. Forecast a projection twice a month during mid month processes of revenue and expenses for the following month. Prepare various financial reports throughout the month. Prepare quarterly financial reports. Participated in the budgeting process at Tempe St. Luke’s. Participated in the physical inventory count as well to verify actual count versus book count. Worked with Business Office to maintain cash records and SOX requirements.

Manage all aspects of daily business operations within payroll department and supervise staff of 4 employees to ensure highest levels of customer satisfaction. Oversee the bi-weekly payroll process of $7 million that is done in-house for nearly 4,500 employees. Also oversee the other semi-monthly executive payroll that is outsourced. Prepare quarterly and annual taxes and maintain all tax reporting records. Reconcile all quarterly taxes to W-2 earnings. Maintain the accounting systems that I was responsible for, including productivity system. Maintain all systems to comply with HR policies and external reporting laws and accounting information system data integrity. Maintain and balance all payroll related general ledger accounts including but not limited to accrued payroll, 401K accounts, and all tax accounts. Maintain professional relationship between payroll and human resources for highest customer satisfaction levels. Provide special reports to various department managers.

Began as an accounting assistant processing invoices within accounts payable department. Was promoted twice resulting in a staff accountant position where I was responsible for monthly preparation of financial statements, monthly budget variance analysis for VP of Finance, general ledger account reconciliations, bank reconciliations, statistical reports, audit preparation, tax reporting preparation, journal entries, intercompany transactions and other various duties as assigned by the director of accounting or the VP of Finance.
