Before joining Metro, Wendy served as the inaugural director of the Hofstra Law Wellness Program establishing a mental health and wellness program at the Maurice A. Deane School of Law at Hofstra University. Previously, she worked as a professional development and career counselor for Hofstra's law students and alumni. Following law school, Wendy was a federal judicial law clerk for two years in the United States District Court, Southern District of New York; practiced commercial litigation at a large Wall Street law firm for five years; and was an adjunct law professor teaching legal research and writing, as well as a pre-trial civil litigation clinical program. Wendy also founded the Lymphatic Research Foundation (Lymphatic Education & Research Network - LE&RN), after her (late) daughter, Melanie Rose was diagnosed with a rare lymphatic disease. During her tenure with the Foundation, she served on numerous National Institutes of Health government advisory councils, national boards, and committees. She is internationally recognized for her advocacy in transforming the field of lymphatic research and medicine.
