I am a storyteller. I believe in the power of words and images to communicate universal truths about the human condition. As a journalism student I idolized female journalists like Martha Gellhorn and Georgie Anne Geyer. Like them, I dreamed of traveling the world and telling the stories of people and places. While I haven’t quite traveled the world, I did spend 20 years writing about people from all walks of life as a journalist for a variety of publications both local and national. I remain a steadfast supporter of a free and independent press. As news organizations tightened budgets, I ventured into marketing and communications to share the evolving story of how a small urban faith-based hospital can make a difference not only in the lives of individuals but also in the Cleveland community. In my latest chapter, I am fulfilling a lifelong passion to support the education and leadership development of young women by telling the story of an all-girls Catholic education rooted in the Ursuline faith tradition as the school's first lay leader.
