About Wendy Katagi

Wendy Katagi leads Stillwater Sciences' Los Angeles office as Senior Manager of Watershed & Ecosystem Restoration Services. Think global act local! Wendy directs large-scale restoration programs focused on flowing rivers, wildlife connectivity, biodiversity, threatened and endangered species recovery, watershed science, planning, project implementation, dam removals/fish passage, integrated water resource/water quality management, green infrastructure, public access, and urban stream/lake restoration throughout California. With over 100 professional staff across 10 offices, Stillwater integrates watershed science and planning, aligned with biodiversity and water directives toward implementation. Wendy, a Certified Environmental Professional, has over 36 years experience in managing watershed programs, award-winning projects, and in directing large multi-disciplinary teams of engineers, planners, scientists, and constructors. She is currently directing LA River, Malibu Creek, Santa Ana River, San Gabriel River, Arroyo Seco, among other watershed programs. Wendy directs our Southern CA native fish recovery/biodiversity/connectivity 30x30 initiative. Stillwater’s geomorphologists, ecologists, engineers, and planners focus on southern steelhead, mountain lion, San Bernardino kangaroo rat, Santa Ana sucker, unarmored three-spine stickleback, arroyo chub, least Bells vireo, and other wildlife recovery work. Wendy oversees Stillwater’s team in creating biodiversity/in stream flows tools to increase public access to nature in high park need areas. She is Vice-Chair of LA County’s Regional Planning TAC for Significant Ecological Areas and serves on City of LA’s Biodiversity Expert Council and multiple TACs. She has an extensive background in regulatory compliance and grant funding, totaling over $2B in integrated programs for large watershed-wide stakeholder programs throughout California. She recently joined Dam Removal Europe and presented and sang at Free Flow. Guest lecturer at UCLA and USC and singer/songwriter/producer.
