This enables me to quickly hone in on my clients' priorities and provide solutions.One of my very first clients was a woman who approached me 11 years ago with 3 shopping bags overflowing with receipts. She hadn't filed her taxes for 3 years - and each bag represented a year. When we met, she said, "I'm looking for someone very special, who has the financial acumen to sort through my disastrous accounting methods, (which are non-existent) combined with exceptional management and organizational abilities." She said that once this big roadblock, (which she had been putting off for years), was out the way, her mind would be clear and she would be able to tap into her creativity to propel her business to the next level.What was really eating away at her was the fear that she was going to owe a huge sum in tax penalties.And, it was just easier to sweep it all under the rug - and pretend it didn't exist.She had finally reached the breaking point and knew she couldn't put it off any longer.I introduced her to a CPA I was partnering with, and we assured our client that by taking one step at a time, together we would be able to resolve this.Our relationship continues to this day.
