As a experienced executive and mentor, she is founder of Vernissage Health - a leadership development initiative based at IHPME that connects emerging and established leaders together in dialogue about leadership in health. The aim is to develop emerging leaders with the skills and insights to successfully lead transformation of the Canadian health system. As a Senior Fellow within IHPME, Wendy's work with Vernissage Health garnered her receipt of the Arbor Award in 2018 for outstanding service to the University of Toronto.Bringing deep experience, Wendy has served as a senior executive in a broad range of settings in the private and public sectors including North York General Hospital in Toronto, Trillium Health Centre in Mississauga, St. Joseph's Hospital in Hamilton, Rx Canada and the Ontario Public Service.During her leadership career, Wendy spearheaded work within organizations and communities to successfully implement "first of a kind" service delivery systems that stand the test of time. Wendy is one of a handful of Canadians who are alumni of the Leadership Academy offered through Parker Palmer's Centre for Courage and Renewal in Washington. She is also a graduate of McGill University's International Masters of Health Leadership, a global leadership development initiative.From strategy through execution, Wendy supports and guides health leaders and organizations as they change and transform to serve communities and achieve improved health outcomes.

Director, Central RegionOntario Public Service 2013 - 2015Ontario, CanadaProvided operational leadership to create an integrated regional structure for the programs and services provided through the Ministry of Community and Social Service (MCSS) and the Ministry of Children and Youth Services (MCYS). Central Region includes York, Simcoe, Peel, Halton, Wellington, Dufferin, and Waterloo, representing 35% of the province's population. Assumed direct line responsibility for youth probation services and oversight to over 400 agencies providing youth justice services, childrens mental health services, childrens special needs programs, programs to prevent and protect women against violence, adult developmental services, autism programs, and child protection services. The combined direct operating expenses and transfer payment allotments in Central Region is over 3 billion dollars - more than one quarter of the provincial allotment within the five Ministry regions. Key responsibilities included:* Completed the realignment of management and staff from three Regions spanning two Ministries into one integrated regional structure. * Fostered community collaboration, broadened agency networks and built partnerships to create and enhance service systems.* Provided support and direction to staff and agencies related to the Ministries regional realignment efforts and program transformation initiatives. -
