Responsible for daily operations related to production and facility management at two separate sites for precision stamping company. Leader in the implementation of Lean Manufacturing and process improvements to improve capacity and capability.

In this start-up of a world-class metal finishing facility, lead the management team through successful completion of Nadcap Certification for Quality Systems and Chemical Processing to capture the aerospace market in Northern Baja California and Mexico. The company has customers such as Honeywell, Gulfstream, GKN Aerospace as well as others in industrial markets.

This division was devoted to the high-volume chrome plating of OEM and aftermarket wheels, as well as the manufacture and assembly of welded two-piece wheels and warehousing for distribution. Lead the implementation of a chrome-plating line and the refurbishment of a second chrome-plating line and water treatment installation. The division implemented warehouse shipment capabilities direct to the end user, in order to minimize the cost of distribution and shorten lead times.

Turn-around opportunity with three separate but interrelated companies operating under one roof. The team implemented substantial changes, including a total restructuring of the organization and the development of an operating plan and budget, implementation of the initial elements of Lean Manufacturing and the roll out of a safety incentive plan.

This division specialized in the production of pin and screw type threaded fasteners from a variety of alloy and stainless steel materials. With annual sales of up to $27 million, the plant was capable of producing 20 million fasteners per year. The organization underwent a conversion to cellular flow operating units with the result of greatly improved manufacturing cycle times, internal quality systems and on-time delivery. Lead times were significantly reduced, manufacturing costs lowered and reliability improved for a variety of product types and sizes. Extensive training and team-building projects contributed to a culture of participation and ownership.

This division housed the corporate offices for aerospace fasteners and a number of manufacturing units producing all types of aerospace connectors and fastening devices. Was responsible to lead the implementation of a Corporate Procurement Council and headed the negotiation of numerous Division-wide purchasing agreements that spanned the network of all the Fairchild facilities, including metals contracts of greater than $15,000,000 annually. As a member of the Implementation Committee for the QAD/MFGPRO MRPII conversion, I was responsible for the integration of the Purchasing, Shipping and Inventory Control modules in the successful implementation of a complete system reconstruction.
