Wendy Miner began her study of dance at the age of three under the instruction of Karen Alwin. Wendy went on to study ballet at both the University of Utah and Chicago Ballet and studied jazz at Lou Conte’s school in Chicago and EDGE Performing Arts Center in Los Angeles. Wendy danced professionally with companies in Chicago, Los Angeles and Albuquerque, including Touch Dance Ensemble and Luis Fuente Ballet New Mexico.Wendy was groomed as a teacher by her mentor, Karen Alwin, and was on faculty at Albuquerque’s Alwin School of Dance for 20 years. More recently, Wendy has taught Master Classes across the country and was on summer faculty with Lines Ballet School. Wendy earned a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from The University of New Mexico with additional studies in biology and nutrition. Wendy is a member of the Cecchetti Council of America and carries her Teacher’s Certification for Cecchetti grades one through four, as well as her student certifications.In addition to teaching, Wendy is an accomplished choreographer and has commissioned full-length shows for both The Performers and Santa Ana Star Casino as well as numerous YAGP award-winning ensemble pieces and solos. In 2010 Wendy became the Artistic Director of The Performers Ballet and Jazz Company, where she oversees production development and dancer education. Wendy is a prolific choreographer and has created two full-length productions for The Performers. In 2014 Wendy opened her own dance studio, Magnify Dance Center, whose mission is to nurture students to achieve their fullest potential by providing comprehensive dance training, education and performance opportunities built on a strong foundation of classical ballet. Wendy seeks to inspire growth in the capabilities, confidence and character of those she teaches as well as to positively impact her community through artistic integrity.Wendy and her husband Allen are the proud parents of three children.
