Wendy Shames began her career in interior design in 1997 following a successful career in corporate real estate, development and property management. Since graduating from the Art Institute of Colorado with a Bachelor of Arts degree in interior design, Ms. Shames has worked for a number of award winning interior design firms in Colorado and San Diego. Some of the various types of projects she has worked on include high end residential, restaurants, and executive offices. Ms. Shames is currently the principal designer of a full service interior design firm specializing primarily in new construction and remolding of high end private residences. Shames’ professional memberships include: ASID (American Society of Interior Designers) and IDEC (Interior Design Educators Council).

Full time faculty member. Ms. Shames was responsible for curriculum development and instruction of coursework in the Interior Design Department. Demonstrated exceptional knowledge in developing and implementing instructional classroom applications and learning measurement tools. Continually promoted the use of current technologies in daily student learning assignments and activities. Classes Taught: Introduction to Interior Design, Introduction to AutoCad, Materials and Specifications, Textiles, Residential Traditional, Residential Contemporary, Lighting Design, Business Management for Interior Designers,Building Codes and Regulations, History of Architecture, Interiors, and Furniture - Ancient to 1830, History of Architecture, Interiors and Furniture 1830 to Present.
