I thought I'd be a teacher of young children... and through a series of lucky circumstances, I fell into training adults. I have provided trainings on stress management, balancing work/life issues, positive psychology/happiness, change management, communication, business etiquette, nonpartisan election advocacy, child development, and parenting since 1989. In addition to one-hour seminars and webinars, I conduct longer workshops and have been a keynote speaker at many conferences.I have added the application of humor and laughter into these more challenging subjects. This is a wonderful blend of realities - and strategies - that reflect the needs of today's employees, managers, and families. My style is upbeat, positive, and motivational, with the emphasis on empowerment of the participants to enable them to make important changes in their behaviors, leading them to happier lives.Additionally, I have been a freelance curriculum developer since 1989, available to help with updating or creating webinars, seminars, and workshops for your organization.Topic areas include: stress management, balancing work/life issues, humor/laughter/positive psychology, communication, change management, children's issues advocacy, nonpartisan election advocacy, parental involvement and engagement, parent education. Additionally, I teach knitting and juggling for stress management! My background also includes work and training in advocacy, which has led to a long commitment to bettering the field of child care in Michigan and nationally. In 2013, I became the part-time Executive Director for an exciting nonprofit - Mittens for Detroit. This job is my dream job - allowing me to work with innovative and committed people, to help build a better community in Detroit, directly providing mittens and gloves to people in need. I love Detroit - my hometown - and I am thrilled to be helping in this capacity. In 2011, I co-authored a delightful children's photo picture book - "Ernie's Special Summer Day"!
